Terms and Conditions
Last updated: April 2026
These terms and conditions apply to all domestic and commercial cleaning services provided by Lightfoot Cleaning Services Ltd. By booking a service, you agree to these terms.
1. About us
Lightfoot Cleaning Services Ltd provides professional carpet, upholstery and hard floor cleaning services across Chester, North Wales and the Wirral. For enquiries contact us at colin@lightfootcleaningservices.co.uk or 01244 811933.
2. Bookings and quotes
All quotes are provided free of charge and are based on the information you supply at the time of enquiry. Final pricing may be adjusted on arrival if the actual condition or size of the area differs materially from what was described.
A booking is confirmed when we have agreed a date and time with you in writing or verbally. We reserve the right to decline any booking.
3. Access and preparation
You are responsible for ensuring we have safe and clear access to the areas to be cleaned. This includes moving smaller items of furniture where practical. We will move larger items of furniture at our discretion but accept no liability for any damage that may result from moving heavy or fragile items.
Pre-existing damage to carpets, flooring or upholstery will be noted prior to cleaning. We accept no liability for damage that pre-existed our visit.
4. Our service
We will carry out all work with reasonable skill and care using appropriate professional equipment and products. Results will vary depending on the age, condition and type of the surface being cleaned.
We cannot guarantee the removal of all stains. Some stains (including bleach damage, dye run, or permanent chemical staining) are beyond the capability of any professional cleaning process. Where we believe a stain is unlikely to be fully removed, we will advise you before proceeding.
5. Satisfaction guarantee
We inspect all work with you before we leave. If you are not satisfied with any aspect of our work, please raise it immediately so we can address it on the day.
If a problem becomes apparent after we have left, contact us within 48 hours and we will return to inspect the issue and remedy it at no extra charge where we consider it to be within the scope of our original service.
6. Payment
Payment is due on completion of the work unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing in advance (for example, for commercial clients on account).
We accept cash, bank transfer and card payment. For commercial clients, invoices are payable within 14 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed.
We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue commercial invoices at 8% above the Bank of England base rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998.
7. Cancellations
We ask for at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the quoted job value.
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments in exceptional circumstances (such as equipment failure or illness). We will give you as much notice as possible and will not charge a cancellation fee in these circumstances.
8. Liability
We carry comprehensive public liability insurance. In the unlikely event of damage caused directly by our negligence, we will deal with any valid claim fairly and promptly.
Our total liability to you in connection with any service will not exceed the value of that service.
We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of earnings or business, or any loss arising from pre-existing damage or defects.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date shown at the top of this page indicates when they were last revised.
